Honda is working with full steam on the new compact crossover, which will be named WR-V and will be deployed in current HR-V in the range of the manufacturer. Photos of a prototype test were published on Autoreview newspaper, who published details of the vehicle.
The small SUV will be launched in November, and the first will be sold exclusively in Brazil and India. The production will be directed at the Honda factory in Sao Paulo. At the base of WR-V will be the chassis of the compact hatchback Jazz, known in some markets as Fit. The platform is extended due to the distance between the two axes and reaches 2.600 mm. The length of the model will exceed 4.000 mm. The launch model will be offered only with the 1.5-liter petrol engine with 131 hp and 155 Nm, which will be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox or variator transmission.
It is anticipated in early 2017 new Honda WR-V to be produced in China. Certainly the model will appear on the market in Indonesia, as in other countries of Southeast Asia. Depending from sales, leadership of Honda crossovers will decide whether to start offering this crosover in Europe.
