We knew it was on the cards and well, here it is – the Mercedes-AMG GT C roadster. The company has teased the car ahead of its official debut at the Paris motor show later this month and well, it looks quite brilliant in the teaser. While we do not see the face of the car, the side gives us an understanding of what the car will look like with the top down.
From what we can see, Mercedes-AMG has made some changes to the rear bumper, which will see the incorporation of a horizontal slat located between the taillights. The standard GT and GT S coupes don’t have this but the meaner GT R Coupe features a similar opening in the rear bumper. The C version of the Mercedes-AMG GT will probably sit between the S and the R and this means that the C might be more powerful than the S but weaker than the range-topping R.
Having said that, we’ll know more closer to the reveal as the company has not revealed any technical details of the car. From what we know though, the GT C Roadster is likely to get the same turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 but with more power. Considering that the GT S produces 503bhp and the GT R produces 577bhp, we expect the C to cross the 530bhp mark, which will mean that Mercedes-AMG will have all bases covered. Also expect a more aggressive chassis setup considering it’s a folding soft-top.
Now, we won’t have to wait long for the car to be revealed as we’ll see it in the flesh at the Paris Motorshow at the end of this month, but we expect the technical details to be out before that and can’t wait to see what Mercedes-AMG has to offer.
