Nissan is preparing for a radical return to the market of supermini vehicles with the new version of Micra, whose covert prototype was recorded before its official presentation at this year’s Paris Motor Show in October.
The current version is based on a platform that is 13 years old and looks outdated compared to nearly every car in its class.
The latest model will use a completely new CMF-B platform designed for small cars, which is also used by Renault, while the exterior design will be very similar to the concept Sway that was shown last year at the fair in Geneva, with angular elements at the front and sides and rump inspired by that of the Nissan Juke.
The new Micra will be longer, wider and lower set than the current model, which means space inside will be significantly larger for the passengers and for the boot too. For the interior are expected to be used big part from the futuristic cab design Sway.
Details of engines that will be offered are not yet know, but it’s expected to be available after the launching of the model and to be turbocharged variants of petrol and diesel engines.
