The next Mazda MX-5 will use carbon fiber!!!

The fourth-generation of  Miata is in sales only one year, but the engineers at Mazda already seriously working on a successor. Fifth-generation of Mazda MX-5 arrives on the market in 2021, but it is known that the new model will lose a lot of weight.


Miata will remain with the same size, but the production will be used carbon fiber, which will contribute to lower weight.
“The concept is simple, the weight of the car will be reduced, so you will be able to install smaller engines and wheels. It will be a lightweight sports car, “says Nobuhiro Yamamoto, one of the main people responsible for the development of the Mazda MX-5.
It is assumed that the Miata will receive 3-cylinder engines. The smallest unit in the Mazda MX-5 now has a 4-cylinder 1.5 with an output of 129 hp.
