BMW and Toyota are continuing to work together on the development of sports model, and new details are suggesting what these two companies are planing. The project could result with simplified roadster model under mark of BMW, while Toyota’s market model would be positioned higher.
The current Z4 is already a bit outdated, if we take the fakt that it was launched in 2009, and the Bavarians could take a minimalist approach when it comes to inheritance. As an example, spy photos show Bimmer being tested in the Arctic with a canvas roof (the current model has a hard folding roof).
Also, BMW has no plans to launch a roadster with the mark “M”. Toyota model will be a coupe and as things stand it will revive with the name “Supra”. The flexible platform also allows Toyota to make a larger car than BMW. The engine will likely be a serial turbo six-cylinder, while the leader will have a supplement in the form of plug-in hybrid system.
