Ford Edge 4×4 which was presented at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, a few weeks ago finally and officially hit the market. As flagship 4×4 model in the line of Ford, will “compete” with the SUV models like the Audi Q5, which will BE close in features, but also visually.
The basic model (Zetec variant) will have a 2.0 liter TDCI diesel engine from 180 horse forces, 6-speed manual transmission, all-wheel drive (with 19-inch wheels), infotainment touch-screen system with DAB radio, front seats with heating and cooling, as and active noise Cancellation system (active silencer).
Titanium and Sport variants will be more expensive, and with them the offer will be more powerful engine – a 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel of 210 horsepower, 6-speed automatic gearbox, CO2 emissions of 149g / km and fuel consumption of 20km / l.
In terms of design, the front grille is similar to that of the Ford Mondeo (more elevated variant), while the front cover is similar to that of Land Rover (formerly owned by Ford).
The interior is a 5-seat and under Ford, has more passenger seats than rival midsize SUV models from other manufacturers, including the one most VW Touareg. Dashboard and center console are “borrowed” from the Mondeo, and rear inflatable seat belts on. Will be available and Technology Pre Collision Assist & Pedestrian Detection, which will use cameras and radar to detect dangers ranging in speeds from 8 to 160km / h. As an option will be offered Adaptive Steering and front wide-angle camera.
The starting price of the basic model should be under 37,600 euros, which is lower than the base BMW X3.
