Although it was announced that the Czech manufacturer will make no successor to the highly popular Yeti, but they decided to see a new generation of this wonderful SUV.

Extravagant subcompact crossover of Škoda has seen lately stable demand in Europe. Things somehow recovered, and for just two months were sold 14,857 units, which is certainly much better than the amount collected last year. Last year they sold 64,348 units of the Czech model, which is far from the record of the Renault Captur, which in 2015 had a conversion rate of 194 847 copies. In Mlada Boleslav considered to change that in the future and to have a bigger piece of the cake, sothats why it follow the new generation of model, which was  announced from the head of the company, Bernhard Mayer.

The actual Yeti is built on the chassis of PQ35 Volkswagen Golf V,and the next generation will be based on the MQB modular platform that will approach the Tiguan and Seat Ateca. This will result in more cabin space and sound external dimensions. In the plan design differences between the two generations will be even more drastic. Odd proportions and layout will make room for far different design, strongly influenced prototype of Vision S Concept, which will soon turn into serial SUV name Kodiaq. From Škoda assureing us that Yeti II  would be more practical than its predecessor. Besides more space for passenger crossover will offer almost 100 liters more luggage space than the current 416.

The range of engines will include 3 and 4-cylinder engines with a displacement of 1.0 to 2.0 liters, known from other assortment of the concern. Will appear and a hybrid version with a similar base from Volkswagen Tiguan GTE, which can run up to 50 km on electricity at speeds up to 130 km / h.

One thing is setain,SKODA YETI 2 will bring lot off exitment .

Good, it needs to be bigger. I like the current head room but try as we may to get our camping gear into it with a raised boot for a spare wheel and it’s almost impossible. Also, don’t bother making 1.2 DSG.. it’s not nearly as responsive as it needs to be, I made a mistake not buying a 4×4 version!
