Renault Clio becomes hybrid

Renault is preparing to release version of the next-generation Clio equipped with a hybrid engine. This was announced by Vice President of the French producer Bruno Ancelin.



Expected new modification to get the system Assist Hybrid, which will debut with the new generation of Scenic. The technology combines a 1.5-liter diesel with 110 hp and an electric motor, powered by a set of lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 48 kW / h. This engine assists the diesel engine when accelerating, as well as reducing fuel consumption. Besides technology has a system for recovery of kinetic energy.

Hybrid Clio can not be charged from the mains, because similar technology will make the model too expensive, Ancelin explained. He revealed details of the next-generation Clio, who gets aerodynamic elements of the concept EOLAB.

Unveiled in 2014 prototype has moving parts of the front bumper and wheel. EOLAB also hybrid with very light weight – 400 kg, achieved by the use of aluminum, magnesium and high-quality steel body. The concept is equipped with technology Z.E. Hybrid, through which fuel is only 1 l / 100 km.
