Volvo S90 is the latest model of the company whose first deliveries are expected sometime in September. S90 will be direct competition for the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, Jaguar XF and the new Mercedes E-Class

S90 will replace the current S80 sedan in the hierarchy of models of Volvo. Compared with him, S90 will be about 3cm wider and longer than 10cm, which will be one of the largest (if not most) car in this class. This model will be built on the same platform SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) and award-winning SUV model Volvo XC90, with whom despite splits and they (only) four-cylinder engines: D4 (acceleration 0-100 km / h in 8.2 sec. and CO2 emissions of 109g / km), the more powerful D5 diesel (with acceleration 0-100 km / h 7.3sek. and CO2 emissions of 133g / km), and the most powerful (with all-wheel drive) plug-in hybrid T8 Twin engine, which will have 320 horsepower, CO2 emissions of 44g / km, and three modes of operation: EV (up to speeds of 120 km / h), hybrid (which will change the drive between the gas and the electric motor) and power (which will combine engines which will get 400 horsepower and 472lb-ft of torque).

At your disposal will be the models S90 T6 (with turbocharged / supercharged 2.0 liter engine, 316 horsepower, 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive) and T5 (turbo 2.0-liter, 240 horsepower, 8-speed automatic transmission and drive the front wheels). You can dial between classical and air suspension.


In view of the interior, it will be a luxury and the XC90 – in the center of the dashboard will have 9-inch touchscreen (in the basic version) and standard option on all models are leather seats and sat-nav system.

S90 in the UK will appear in two variants – Momentum and Inscription, where more luxury (which will be for some 4,000 euros more expensive) will offer seats with Nappa leather, 12.3 inch screen, 18-inch wheels, keyless entry to the vehicle and hands-free opening the door sill.

Prices start from 41,500 euros upwards.
