For a quite a long time we know that the Czech producers are preparing to large SUV, which should compete witg the Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe, and now we have the first photos …
According to reports, VisionS concept that you see should be pretty close to how a serial performance should look. The model has a length of 4.7 meters, a width of 1.91 meters and height of 1.68 meters, making it longer and wider but lower than major competitors from South Korea.
The concept is powered by a hybrid engine with 1,4 TSI turbocharged petrol engine with 155 hp and an electric motor with 55 hp more, and an electric motor with 115 hp to the rear wheels, which should enable 4×4 drive without the need for differential. The engine is paired with DSG automatic transmission with double clutch and 6-speed transmission.
According to Skoda, VisionS sprints to hundred kilometers in just 7.4 seconds and reaches 200 km / h. The current can pass about 50 kilometers and emits only 45 g / km CO2.
The VisionS features a high-set LED headlight, while the logo and vertical bars have crystalline elements which the company says is its way to pay tribute to the Czech art of crystal-glass design.
The side view has a strong SUV character, with a sharp “tornado line” spanning the full body width. The wheel arches have been made angular to emphasize the vehicle’s off-road character, whereas the sloping roofline with a long spoiler tries to give the car the look of acceleration even when parked.
Big SUV of Skoda otherwise should be based on the MQB modular platform of Volkswagen and starts at 30,000 euros for the 1,6 TDI diesel engine when they go on sale, which is quite appropriate given the class in which it is located.
VisionS concept will be officially presented at the Geneva Motor Show in early March.
