The new Porsche 718 brings fresh air into the company


From this generation smallest model of the German sports manufacturer will recognize as Porsche 718. Name Boxster remains but only as an addition that defines his karoserial form. Unfortunately for many, of us didn’t remained  its six-cylinder boxer engine – 718 will be offered with a new four-aggregates. But the Germans assured that he will continue to be a thoroughbred Porsche – turbo above chargig should be sufficient compensation. With his help the smaller of the new propulsion units of its two liters pumped solid 300 horsepower. That is 35 more than the weakest six-cylinder predecessor, the 718 Boxster allows boast acceleration to 100 km / h in 4.7 seconds and maximum 275 km / h. Stronger in their lungs will have another half liter displacement, and its 350 horsepower to the rear wheels to turn the Boxster S and 100 km / h in 4.2 seconds and up to a maximum 285 km / h. That what is trendy and important is that the new units despite the fact that they are stronger,they are 13% more economical.

Both versions of the open two-seater will be available with six-speed manual transmission or optional with the PDK dual-clutch transmission, specially tuned for further fuel savings. Chassis 718 is a modified chassis and roll set to better accommodate the weight distribution according to the new engines. The steering wheel is slightly more direct, and the active management relying vehicle height can be lowered to 10 mm. The appearance of the Porsche 718 will say that it is completely revised with the exception of the cover of the trunk, windshield and cloth roof, and we will say that if you are not directly comparable with the current Boxster, although the differences are sharper look hard to see. Therefore, the difference in price is well noticeable – in Germany 718 Boxster will cost 53 646, and Boxster S 66.141 euros. Sales will begin on 30 April.
